MoMappropriation

"Appropriation" is a theoretical exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan that houses some of the most controversial and well recognized appropriated art pieces in history. This exhibition uses side by side comparisons of art works that have used appropriation to communicate a message to its audience. In some cases, the first piece also contains attributes of appropriation, such as "Guernica" by Picasso, who has been accused of appropriating since his rise to fame. The preceding featured piece's intention is to communicate a direct message to the audience about society or culture.
